WHEN GENOCIDE IS JUSTIFIED
They say that we’re lucky to live in Australia because we’re so far away from places like Gaza.
Apparently this makes us safe.
But I’m not so sure.
Because at least in those places, the threat is obvious.
Enemies are brave enough to confront each other head on.
But our enemy is more sinister, more Machiavellian.
Our enemy tricked us into disarming ourselves in 1996.
And now our enemy is in the streets, celebrating the brutal attacks carried out by Hamas.
Why?
Because, apparently, the Israelis are colonisers.
And I suppose that could be true, depending on your time horizon.
But that’s beside the point.
Because what our enemy is telling us is that they believe genocide is justified if it’s committed against colonisers.
And I don’t think people have properly understood the magnitude of this malevolence.
Our enemies purport to possess a moral superiority which grants them the right to carry out an extermination.
They say that purely by their virtue, they are able to elect those that live and those that die.
This is antithetical to Western ideals of justice and equality.
It’s a malignant ideology which cannot be tolerated.
But that’s not all. Because at the same time, these people are force-feeding us a false narrative that 97% of Australians are colonisers.
And they’re calling for decolonisation.
It doesn’t take a genius to connect the dots here.
Decolonisation will not be a peaceful process.
It will involve the forced, violent removal of your family from their home.
A deracination.
And like the plant which has been pulled out by its roots, it’s unlikely you’ll survive the process.
And the fact that they took our weapons away makes us easy targets.
So no, I don’t feel safe in Australia.
I feel vulnerable.
