THINGS THAT I SEE
I see the crumbling buildings, and my empty wallet.
I see tent cities in every capital.
I see the war and I'm told that we're winning.
But last time I checked, losing the most soldiers isn't the aim.
I see Australian flags being burned in the streets.
I see terrorists being celebrated as heroes.
I see food prices increase by 30%.
I turn on TV and it tells me life's better than ever.
My daughter tells me there's a strange man in the bathroom.
I'm supposed to believe that that man's a woman.
I see the Prime Minister call himself a leader.
I see elites in private jets. I see hypocrites on mega yachts.
I see laws being passed to ban my way of life.
The TV tells me it's for my own good.
I see the years slip through my fingers.
I see my dreams evaporate.
I see my neighbours turn into enemies.
I see, Australia.
